Browsing the site
You can read every page on trans.melbourne without giving us anything directly. We use Google Analytics to see which pages people visit and how the site is used, so we can tell what's working and what isn't — it doesn't know who you are. We don't use ad scripts. Nothing else about your visit is recorded unless you submit an enquiry form.
If you'd rather not be tracked at all — for example if someone has access to a shared device or network you're using — most browsers let you block Google Analytics, or you can use a browser extension or privacy mode that blocks trackers.
If you submit an enquiry
Enquiry forms (on pages like Healthcare, Housing, Legal and so on) ask what you need and, optionally, how to contact you. We only collect what you type into that form: the category, your answers, any notes you add, and — only if you choose to give them — your name, email, phone number, preferred contact method, and safest time to reach you.
Giving contact details is optional, but we need at least an email or phone number to be able to respond to you.
Where it goes
Enquiries are emailed directly to the person running this site using Resend, an email delivery service, and are not stored in a database on this site. If email isn't configured (for example while testing the site), enquiries are written to a server log instead and are never made public.
Once an enquiry reaches an inbox, it's kept only as long as needed to respond, and is not shared, sold, or used for anything other than answering you.
Your safety
Only give us contact details that are safe for us to use. If someone monitors your phone, email or accounts, use a method they can't access. Never include passwords, PINs, or login codes in a form — we'll never ask for them.
Hosting
This site is hosted on standard web infrastructure, which may keep basic technical logs (like IP addresses) for security and reliability, separate from anything you submit through a form.
